IKO Pro Solar Reflective Aluminium Paint - 5L

IKO-Pro solar reflective aluminium paint is a bituminous aluminium coating which can be applied to a wide range of substrates including metal, bitumen coatings and bitumen membranes to protect against the effects of UV and heat ageing. The solar reflective coating gives good heat and light reflective properties, reducing solar heat gain on dark surfaces.

Application temperatures should be 5°C and rising; the maximum temperature for application is 25°C. It is considered good practice to apply this type of coating in overcast conditions to ensure the application is not affected by intense UV exposure during the initial drying period.

For maximum durability and reflectivity, 2 coats should be applied at the recommended coverage rate with a soft broom or soft foam roller.

The first coat should be allowed to dry thoroughly before the application of the second coat. A period of 24hrs is estimated as sufficient for this initial drying period; however substrate conditions, temperature and the weather conditions can create variations in this estimate.

Drying times will be extended in cold, damp conditions or if the coating is applied too thickly. Do not apply when rain is imminent or the surface temperature is below 5°C, in direct sunlight or at temperatures above 25°C.

IKO solar reflective aluminium paint may be applied to bitumen membranes.
