Galvanised steel lintels provide essential structural support above door and window openings, distributing the weight of masonry to prevent cracking and settlement. These corrosion-resistant components are engineered for longevity in Ireland's demanding climate, offering reliable performance across residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects.
Our Galvanised Lintel Range
McMahons stocks a comprehensive selection of steel lintels to suit various wall constructions and load requirements.
- SK90 double cavity wall lintels (100mm cavity) - hot-dip galvanised steel double lintels for supporting both inner and outer leaves of cavity wall blockwork above window and door openings in standard 100mm cavity construction. Pre-fabricated with insulation in the cavity section to reduce thermal bridging at the lintel position, helping maintain the thermal performance of the wall. Easy and quick to install with no heavy lifting required, supporting both leaves in a single unit. Suitable for standard load applications. Available in lengths from 1200mm to 3000mm (1200mm, 1350mm, 1500mm, 1650mm, 1800mm, 2100mm, 2400mm, 3000mm) to suit a wide range of opening widths.
- SK150 double cavity wall lintels (150mm cavity) - hot-dip galvanised double lintels for wider cavity wall constructions with a 150mm cavity, providing the same dual-leaf support and built-in insulation as the SK90 but engineered for wider cavity specifications increasingly common in modern high-performance builds. Available in 2400mm and 3000mm lengths.
- Galvanised angle lintels 3.2mm - hot-dip galvanised single-leaf steel angle lintels designed to carry an outer leaf of brick or block above openings in single-skin and outer-leaf-only applications. Free-standing and self-supporting, requiring no connection to an inner leaf, making them well-suited to extensions, renovations, and any build where only the outer skin requires support. Available in six lengths from 1200mm to 2700mm (1200mm, 1500mm, 1800mm, 2100mm, 2400mm, 2700mm).

Selecting the correct lintel depends on opening width, wall type, and load conditions. Check the manufacturer's span tables to match the lintel profile to your specific masonry weight. Inner and outer leaf requirements may differ in cavity construction, so confirm both elements before ordering.
