Floor underlay is a critical part of any floating floor installation, providing acoustic dampening, thermal insulation, and a level buffer between the subfloor and the finished floor above. Our Floor Underlay Range

• Soundtech Foil Back Rubber Floor Underlay - 1m x 2mm - a dense rubber underlay with a foil backing that provides excellent acoustic performance, reducing impact sound transmission to rooms below. The 2mm thickness suits most standard laminate and floating floor installations. The foil backing also provides a moisture barrier function on concrete subfloors.
• Trojan Alufoil Silver Underlay - 15sqm roll - a lightweight aluminium foil composite underlay providing thermal insulation and acoustic performance in a thin, easy-to-handle roll format. Covers 15sqm per roll, making it practical for larger room installations with minimal joins.

Always check the flooring manufacturer's specification before selecting underlay - some products specify a maximum underlay thickness, and using a thicker underlay than recommended can compromise the click-lock joint integrity of floating floors. For concrete subfloors, ensure a separate DPM is in place where the underlay does not include an integral moisture barrier.
