Twin and earth cable is one of the most common types of cable that is used in domestic wiring, with two insulated current-carrying conductors alongside an uninsulated circuit protective conductor. Due to the lack of UV radiation and moisture protection, flat twin and earth cables are generally not suitable for outdoor use but are used indoors for dry and fixed electrical installations (in walls, ceilings, or conduits). Common applications are lighting circuits, socket circuits, appliance circuits and connecting junction boxes.
